John's Macaroni
& Cheese
7 or 8 ounce package macaroni
3 tablespoon butter
1/2 pound sharp American Cheese, shredded1
1 large or 2 small eggs
1 3/4 cups milk (may use evaporated milk for
richer taste)

| Prepare
macaroni acconding to package directions. Arrange
1/3 of macaroni in a buttered (or spay with Pam)
8 cup casserole, sprinkle lightly with salt, then
dot with 1/3 of the butter, then sprinkle with 1/3
of the cheese. Repeat with macaroni, salt, butter
and cheese until all are used. Beat egg, stir in
milk and pour over the macaroni. Press macaroni
gently down with a fork until liquid comes up
over top layer. Add a little more milk, if
necessary. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees 30 to 40
minutes until bubbly and top is a tempting golden
brown. Serve hot. 5 servings. |
