2 cups plain flour
2 tablespoons lard
3/4
cup of clabber (plain yogurt might work
here)
pinch of baking soda
|
|
Cut the fat into the flour and mix quickly with the clabber to
which the soda has been added to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured board.
Knead lightly for a few seconds. Roll to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with a floured
biscuit cutter. Put into a pan and bake in a hot oven 450º F. for about 7 minutes.
Note: If you were using
sweet milk you used baking powder instead of soda.
